Juan (John) A. DeVargas

May 18th, 1957 ~ July 8th, 2021

John was born in Espanola, New Mexico in 1957 to Victoria DeVargas and Roque Garcia. John and family moved to Denver, Colorado in his youth and he has since lived in various areas of Colorado.

He loved the outdoors, fishing and visiting family in both Colorado and New Mexico. John also loved greyhound and horse racing as well as taking trips to Blackhawk and Central City.

When someone was in need, John could always be counted on to drop anything and everything to be there. He was a great father and had a very close and tight family that will forever be grateful for the bond he made. Through a lifetime of hard work and dedication he became one of the most dependable people a person could count on both in the family and at work.

John leaves behind many family members including his loving son, Juan DeVargas and his wife Alexis. His grandchildren that he loved spending time with, Emilia, Ezmarae, as well as his newborn granddaughter Enisa.

He also leaves behind his sisters Terry, Charlotte, Rose and Noel; his brothers Ben, Pres, Archie, Larry, Patrick and Joe. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John will always be loved, and his name kept alive by everyone who was lucky enough to have him in their life.

A Celebration of life will be held at the VFW Post 501 located at 4747 West Colfax Avenue on Saturday, July 31st from 12 PM to 4 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Michael Gonzales.
