John Vern L'Argent was called home by his Lord Jesus Christ May 10, 2008 after a lengthy illness.  He was born April 21, 1939 to Neely C. and Abbie LaVerne Marshall L'Argent in Denver where he resided the rest of his life.  After serving his country in the United States Army in Korea, he returned to attend Colorado University where he graduated Cum Laude.  John taught fine art at Lakewood Jr. High School and Dunston Middle School and had sculptures & art work displayed in a Northglenn park and the Denver Museum of fine art.


 


He is preceded in death by his parents, brother E. Michael , and beloved wife Doris J. "Mickey".  He is survived by daughter Robin LaVerne L'Argent Figurelli, grandson Vincent; daugher Jeri Rae Rains, granddaughter JoHonna, great granddaughter Kambrea; son John Blue, Jill, grandsons Logan & Duncan and sister Patricia Godber and many nieces & nephews.


 


John was a man of wisdom and great understanding.  He provided strength and faith to family & friends alike.  His compassion and unconditional love for others were hallmark to his being.  This gentle man will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts forever.


John, sleep well and love you many days.


 


A celebration of John's life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the King of King's Lutheran Church (8300 W. Pamona Street, Arvada, CO) .


Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bullock Colonial Chapel.


 


Services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the "Little Ivy Chapel" at Fairmount Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with interment following.
