John L. Glendenning

July 5, 1936 ~ May 19, 2019
John L. Glendenning was born on July 5, 1936 in Estes Park, Colorado. He lived the majority of his life in Colorado with his wife of nearly 60 years, Jeannine. He loved skiing, fishing, and golfing. He will be remembered as enjoying people and being helpful to everyone.
He served on active duty in the Navy from 1958 to 1960. After a variety of jobs he settled in to a position with the State of Colorado Health and Human Services.
When it was time to retire he found much to do. During his 20 years of retirement he delivered Meals on Wheels and drove people to their appointments through Neighbor Network. However, what he enjoyed the most was reading to children at two Child Care Centers and two Elementary Schools in Castle Rock.
He is survived by his wife, children (Robin & Mark Cutright, Heather Glendenning & Robert Porter, and Paris & Maureen Glendenning), grandchildren (Zachary Cutright, Spencer & Morgan Cutright and Hannah Cutright) and brother (James Glendenning). A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 25th, at the Washington Park United Church of Christ (400 So. Williams St., Denver 80209).
