John Veenstra

John Veenstra was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 24, 1926 to George and Sadie (Tillema) Veenstra. He married Shirley Birza in 1947. John is survived by his sisters Joyce DeVries and Ruthann Engelsman of Grand Rapids, Michigan and brother Russ Veenstra (deceased) of Denver, Colorado. Additionally, John has 5 children, Jack (Julie) Veenstra, Judy Kroonenberg, Ron Veenstra, Larry (Karen) Veenstra and Dan (Ann) Veenstra. John had 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

John started his own business in 1965, Recreational Vehicle Accessories, where his family continues to work. He was a charter member of Third Christian Reformed Church in 1952. He was on the first board of the Christian Living Centers in 1972. He also served on the board of Long Scraggy Church Camp. John and Shirley delivered Bibles to various truck stops throughout Colorado for Highway Melodies for 10 years. John was a Calvin Cadet Counselor for many years.

Visitation will be at the Bullock Colonial Chapel Tuesday, December 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..  Memorial services will be at Third Christian Reformed Church (2400 South Ash Street, Denver, CO 80222) on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Living Centers or the Alzheimer's Association.
