Joan Vieweg

Joan Vieweg, 81 of Idaho Springs, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at The Lifecare Center of Evergreen in Evergreen, Colorado.
Joan Vieweg was born on June, 2, 1942 to Howard and Mildred Harlow in Rifle, Colorado. The family moved to Idaho Springs, Colorado in 1957 where Joan attended Clear Creek High School.
In 1958, Joan married Leroy Vieweg and went on to have three children, Joyce Johnson, Mike Vieweg and Janet Kosman.
Joan chose to stay home and raise her children as her family came first. In 1975, Joan went to work in several medical offices and eventually created her own business. Joan retired in July, 2022.
Joan taught Sunday School and worked with children of all ages most of her life. She created a group called “ITZ AWL GOOOD TEENS”. Joan was awarded the 1996 Lyle Wohlers Citizen of the Year Award and acknowledged by channel 7 news for her dedication and commitment to the Idaho Springs youth and her outstanding efforts to provide safe activities for teens in Clear Creek County.
Joan loved the outdoors. She loved camping, fishing and anything that was fun outside. At the age of 60, she began to walk the Bolder Boulder, the Cherry Creek Sneak, the Steamboat Marathon and the Run of the Rockies.
Joan Vieweg was predeceased by her parents Howard and Mildred Harlow, sister Mildred Mckee, and husband Leroy Vieweg.
Left to cherish her memory are:
· Her sister Jean Jones (Northglenn, CO) and brother Jim Harlow (Wahoo, NE).
· Her three children, Joyce Johnson (Westminster, CO), Mike Vieweg (Idaho Springs, CO) and Janet (Greg) Kosman (Arvada, CO).
· Her seven grandchildren, Nathan Johnson, Kortney Vieweg, Nick (Bridget) Johnson, April Vieweg, Daniel Kosman, Jennifer Kosman, and Katie (Ryan) Parker.
· Her thirteen great-grandchildren, Tyler Vieweg, Kayla Mann, Tara Mann, Karli Simminger, Makenzie Bass, Jaxson Klisch, Autumn Amsbaugh, Emily Amsbaugh, Caleb Johnson, Josh Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, Natalie Johnson and Rachel Johnson
Services will be held to celebrate her life on August, 10th at the United Church in Idaho Springs, Colorado at 11:00AM.

You always listened and allowed me to be me. You showed love and compassion always. You will be missed by All
Mom, I love you so much! Your legacy is exemplary for everyone's life you have touched! Your kindness for those less fortunate is second to none. God's blessings will impact the generations below you because of your love for Jesus. You are greatly missed and I am proud you were my mom. Till we meet again!

Joan was a bright light for Jesus! Her faithfulness in loving kids and seeking to reach the least of these is inspiring! Her light will be missed here on earth,but now lights up heaven!
