  1. Darlene,

I am so sorry for your loss…even though I only got to visit with your mother a handful of times, our visits were quite special and she had a special connection with God.  Thank you so very much for letting us care for your mother.  Blessings, Kathleen

  2. I didn't know Jean that well, but what I did know is that she was the sweetest lady I think I've ever met.  She taught my husband Sunday Bible Studies.  She did not forget him.  She welcomed you with open arms and made you feel special.  I will never forget her!

  3. Jean was the sweetest, most elegant lady I've ever known.  My mother and I both worked with her at Boettcher, and she made working there much nicer.  Plus, she was very funny, in a quiet and sudden sort of way.  She was an artist of diplomacy, managing to protect our boss, Stan, from unnecessary contact, without ever being rude.  I am thankful to have known her.

  4. Darlene and dear Family

Our generations go on and Jean is now with loved ones and her Bud!  We go back to South Milwaukee street as neighbors.  My mom and dad loved your parents and so did Chuck and I.  Jean was and will always be an elect lady; an example of living life so exemplary of the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ.

I was about 11 years old when I began caring for the neighborhood kids and you were the one special one!  How much I could recall about our good times in our block.  I have you and your family in my prayers at this time in your lives.  I hope that we can get together sometime before I return to our home in the mountains sometime early April.  The Morris's love you and your family forever!

  5. Darlene,

So sorry you've lost your mom.  She was one special lady.  She and your dad had an impact on my life as the youth sponsors.  My parents thought a lot of your mom too, now they are all together again with Jesus.

You will be in my prayers.

    Love, Karen

  6. I feel privileged to have worked with Jean at Boettcher & Company.  She was so classy, professional, and a good friend.

  7. Jean was one classy lady and a deeply committed woman of faith!  She and Bud impacted a whole generation of youth at First Reformed Church.  They took a special interest in me in my high school years and played a significant role in my decision to enter ministry.  It is appropriate that she lived to far beyond "three score and ten," indeed, beyond four score and ten.  Well done, good and faithful servant!

  8. Dear Darlene:  When visiting Dorothy recently, we noticed the passing of your mom in the January 26, 2014 Denver Post.  She certainly lived a good long life.

Jean and Bud were close friends of my parents Bill and Dorothy, and they were always in choir together at First Reformed Church.  Bud and Jean were very important extended family members for me while growing up in the First Reformed community.  Their service as youth group leaders was especially important to my own development.  I last say your parents at my mom's 90th birthday party at her home in March 2005.  Mom sends her condolences to you and best wishes for your family as you live your lives without your parents.

  9. Darlene,

I have so many wonderful memories of your mom and dad.   Jean was extremely special and I will never forget the day her and Bud sat next to me at church and said "I bet you are wondering why all these people (her group of friends) are surrounding you" and I said "God has some something special with it" and they all became my family, your mom especially!  She shared God's love constantly and I know is so happy to be with her Jesus and Bud!  She will always have a special place in my families heart……we loved Grandma Jean sooooo much!

    Blessings,

    Debbie Zach

  10. Darlene,

I just read about your mother's passing in the Central College Bulletin, and realized it has been a year since her death.  I am so sorry for your loss.  Your mom and dad were like second parents to me while we were growing up!

You and I had such wonderful times together.  Where did the years go?  I remember going to Grand Lake with you and your folks and the "trouble" we got into, but as always they were quick to anger and even quicker to get over it!!!  They were a wonderful example of the Christian Faith!

I wish we had not lost touch over the years.  I am still in Morrison, IL and get to Colorado once a year.  I would love to reconnect if you could send a message through my email!  God bless you and your family!
