Jean Arthur

 Jean Arthur, 82, passed away on February 26, 2011 after a short illness.  She was predeceased by her husband, James R. Muhm and her son, Charles H. Arthur.  She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Arthur of Lexington, Kentucky, and Elizabeth Gordon of Gunnison, Colorado; two sons, Wally Arthur of Denver and Jake Arthur of Centennial; and eight grandchildren.   She is also survived by her former husband, Dr. James H. Arthur.  She graduated from Smith College in 1950 and moved to Denver in 1958 where she raised her family, served on the Board of Directors of RTD from its inception, was Vice-Chair of the Arapahoe County Republican party (1973-1974), volunteered for Families of the Blind, and supported the MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, as well as performing many other civic roles. A generous, engaging, and perpetually positive person, she will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and many, many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Holly Creek, 5500 E. Peakview Ave. in Centennial on Sunday, May 1st at 11:30am.
