Jean A.Keel

Jean A. Keel, 74, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.  She was born Sept. 25, 1943, in Wabash County, Indiana to Clyde and Irene Littlefield. Raised on the family farm, she graduated from Manchester High School in 1961.  The following year Jean joined the Navy for the opportunity to see the world.  She married William R. Keel, son of William G. Keel and Mary Helen Sparks, in 1972 after they met in the Navy.  Their first child Michelle was born in 1976, followed by their second Walter in 1978. After both Jean and William retired from the Navy, the family moved cross-country several times before settling in Utah in 1988.  In Utah, she worked for the Weber County school district and rejoined the military, going into the Air Force Reserves.  After retiring from both, Jean and William returned to Indiana in 2007, where she enjoyed volunteering for several organizations.  Last year, Jean moved to Denver to be closer to her children.

Jean brought joy and a welcoming openness to all who met her and will be deeply missed.  She is survived by her loving daughter and son and one sister, Carol Mow of Indiana.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, March 24th, from 12pm - 2pm at DO McComb & Sons - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805.  Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens on Lake Ave follows the celebration.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
