MR. Tyis was great to all of us kids. When I got older, I would talk to him all of the time when he worked press box security at Mile High Stadium 🏟 during Broncos games. He got a big kick out of one of his Evergreen kids being in the media. God rest his soul.

I worked with J.C. many years ago, when he was a Burglary Detective in District Four. J.C. was always hard-working, honest, and above all, ethical. As a Detective, he was always hot on the heels of the local bad guys, and he knew ALL of them, to be sure. J.C. was a decent man who had a very big heart. While on the job, J.C. was truly a dedicated, hard-working, true-blue, "cop's cop"! I was saddened to hear of his passing, but I take solace in the knowledge that he led a full and good life. I have no doubt that the Lord will welcome J.C. Tyus into heaven, and will tell him "well done, good and faithful servant". To the Tyus family, I offer my most sincere and heartfelt condolences on your heavy loss. J.C. Tyus was unquestionably one of the good guys! Rest in peace, Sir… 86-43
The Lillo Family fondly remembers speaking with JC and Kathi at the 4pm Saturday Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He and Kathi were always so kind to our son.
