Janie Mueller, 58

Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend

Jane Marie Mueller, 58, died April 6, 2023, from heart failure while undergoing dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant. She was born July 25, 1964, to Jim and Marilyn Mueller (Beckner). Jane was the youngest of three girls.

Jane attended Golden High School. She went on to attend the Kansas City Art Institute and ultimately graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Art Education from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.

Jane is survived by her son Jack Mueller; mother Marilyn Mueller; sisters Karen (David Acierno) and Karla Mueller (Steve Ketcham); and nieces Caroline and Suzanne Ketcham. She was preceded in death by her father, James Mueller, who died of complications from polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in 1973 at the age of 36.

Despite her own struggles with PKD, Jane led a full life. She gave birth to her son Jack, the love of her life, in 1995. She received a lifesaving kidney transplant in 2001. She loved music and made many memories attending concerts by artists like Elton John, Crowded House, and FooFighters with her friends and loved ones.  Jane loved animals, especially Rosie, the horse she rescued in 2015, and her corgi Ziggy. She shared her talent and love of art through teaching, and her creative spirit was irrepressible. Her friends and family will always remember the way her presence could light up a room.

A celebration of her life is planned for 11am, July 22 at the Arbor House at Maple Grove Park.  Contributions can be made in her name to the PKD Foundation www.pkdcure.org or the American Kidney Fund.
