Jane Beach

September 22, 1921 – September 30, 2016

Jane Beach was born September 22, 1921 in Walker, MO to James and Glessner Edmiston. She died just after her 95th birthday on September 30, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.   Jane earned an Associate of Arts degree from Cottey College in Nevada, MO, then attended the Kansas City Art Institute to prepare her for a career in commercial art (fashion illustration) and watercolors. She married Ivan Kenneth Beach on November 28, 1946 and they lived in Kansas City, MO, and Leawood, Kansas for 58 years before moving to Denver to be near their daughter.  In Denver she lived at Heritage Club (Brookdale) and Clermont Park (Christian Living Center).

Jane faithfully attended the Methodist Church for her entire life and she and Ivan had many friends in their various congregations. After leaving her job in fashion illustration at Macy’s she continued to practice her beloved watercolor art in her home studio, showing her work at various art shows in the region.

Jane is pre-deceased by her husband, Ivan, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Beach; daughter-in-law, Kathy Magilvy; nieces Charla (Larry) Manica; Sally (Vic) Jadlow; and their children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday October 4, 2:00 pm, at Denver Hospice Care Center Chapel 8299 E. Lowry Blvd., Denver, CO 80230.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Denver Hospice 401 S. Cherry St. # 700, Denver, CO 80246.
