James L. "Bob" Stork

JAMES (BOB) LESTER STORK James (Bob) Lester Stork of Las Vegas, NV, passed away at home after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loved ones on January 21, 2013 due to end-stage renal failure, diabetes and hypertension. He was predeceased by his Parents, Sidney Earl, Sr. and Sarah Lucille Ponder Stork, his Brothers, Earl Stork, Jr. and Charles Donald Marzelle (Duck) Stork, and his Sisters Martha Jean Stork Dean and Julia Inez Stork Geurin. He was born in Canton, GA on March 14, 1934. He entered and retired from the Air Force prior to moving to Denver, CO to begin his career in Law Enforcement (highest position Chief of Police in Cortez, CO), Mortuary Science and a 34-year tenure as a Deputy Coroner in Arapahoe County, CO. He graduated with a degree in Law Enforcement from Arapahoe Community College in 1968. Upon retirement in 1993 he moved to Las Vegas, NV where he lived until his death. He became a very active Volunteer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, receiving his 4000 hour recognition patch just days before his death. He is survived by his Wife of 57 years, Peggy Annette Calhoun Stork. They were married on December 31, 1955 in Canton, GA. Survivors also include his Daughters Dawn Stork Fitzpatrick (Roger) of Layton, UT and S. Eve Stork ( Dave Hull ) of Las Vegas, NV, his Son, James Lester Stork, II of Lakewood, CO, Grandchildren Shannon Anderson, Brian and Brady Fitzpatrick, and Great-Grandchildren, Karsten and Parker Anderson, Cathryn Fitzpatrick and Kian and Kinley Fitzpatrick, all of Utah. Memorial Services will be held at Bullock Colonial Chapel, 1375 E. Hampden Ave. Englewood, Co on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11am with ennichment to follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at a later date.
