James Francis Walter was born September 16th, 1935 in Omaha Nebraska, son of Wallace and Rose Walter, brother to Robert Walter.
In September 1957 James married Bette Ann Johanson (who preceded him in death in 2014). After marrying - Jim and Bette had 6 children, Dan, Linda, Bob, Angela (preceded in death), Joseph and Christie. They settled in Golden Colorado where they had made their home for the last 49 years. They were grandparents to 8 grandchildren - Eric, Brenda, Tammie, Lisa, Loren, Bobbie, Beau and Kaycee and were great grandparents to 5 great grandchildren.
James made his living acquiring properties for rentals. Having 6 children at home to feed; Jim and Bette on their property in Golden, raised cows and pigs for meat, chickens for eggs and goats for milk. Some of the fondest memories of living on a farm were during springtime and the birth of baby animals. For years the summer pig roast Luau was a hit among all of their friends.
Over the years James and Bette found happiness in traveling the world, seeing places such as Australia, New Zealand, Russia, China and the Caribbean. Later years were spent with weekly trips to Blackhawk for the buffet and gambling.
After the passing of his beloved wife Bette -James spent the following years living at his home in Golden. James passed away peacefully on Sunday April 9th, 2017 at the Collier Hospice Center.
He will be missed by all of his family - especially his children.
At a later date the children of James Walter will be having a private memorial honoring both of their parents and their late sister, Angela.
