Ivan L Naylor, 82, of Lakewood, CO passed away in Lakewood on December 13, 2017, after being in
failing health for some time. He was born July 1, 1935 in Buchanan County to Henry Granville Naylor and
Edna (Albert) Naylor. He graduated from Jesup High School in 1954, where he was elected Class
President and was a champion wrestler. He immediately joined the Army and felt fortunate to be
stationed in Germany. He visited there in recent years and saw his old barracks as well as favorite
haunts.
He married the former Jean Clark of Independence in 1960. They relocated to Lakewood, Colorado in
1963. Ivan managed Kinney Shoe Stores and then spent 31 years at Sears Roebuck. He is survived by
Jean of Lakewood, daughter Jennifer Pfleeger, and grandchildren Jack and Hayley Pfleeger of Littleton,
Colorado. He is also survived by 10 siblings from Independence and surrounding areas. Sisters Henrietta
Belendier, Lorraine Romick, Florence Hermsen and Pat MCalley, brothers Lyle, Frank, Ron (Lena), Don,
and Ken all of Iowa and Rich (Linda) of Nebraska as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
During his life he enjoyed fishing, golf, playing cards, crossword puzzles and socializing with his many
friends. He was very generous in his contributions to causes close to his heart, especially anything
connected with the military.
His service will be held on January 18, at 2 p.m. at Fort Logan National Military Cemetery in Denver,
followed by a celebration of his life at The Front Range Inn on Morrison Road.
