Inez L. Pixler

inez pixler

Inez Lee (Christopher) Pixler was born on August 30, 1928, in Denver, Colorado. She passed from life on October 25, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Aurora, where she had been a resident for eight months.

Inez will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on November 1, 2019, at 9:00 am. Please line up in your car for shelter "A" at 8:30 am. We will move to the shelter for the services at 8:45 am.

Inez lost her father, Adolphus Christopher, at a young age and was raised in Bailey, Colorado, by her mother, Rama (Harris) Christopher. In her early teens, she and her mother moved to Englewood, Colorado, where Inez attended Englewood High School.

During the war, she worked as a "soda jerk" at the local drugstore and danced to the "Big Bands" at Elitch Gardens with her girlfriends Charlotte and Margie. Inez loved to dance.

Eventually, she met Eugene N. Pixler and fell in love. They wed on November 12, 1944, and had three children, Jerry Eugene, Rama Lee, and Connie Marie.

Inez stayed at home to care for her children and her ailing mother. Later, she worked for a short time at Denver University as a secretary and then ran her husband's sheet metal installation business.

Inez loved to socialize with friends and family. She and Gene belonged to a bowling league and enjoyed going to Las Vegas to play slots and poker. Together they built a cabin in the mountains and spent many enjoyable weekends there with their children and grandchildren.

Inez's legacy includes six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Eugene and her beloved daughter Rama Lee.

After the services at Fort Logan, please join us for breakfast and remembrances at Golden Corral, 3677 So. Santa Fe Drive at 10:00 am. There will be a room reserved for us under the name of Pixler.
