LORTSCHER, Harold ("Hal") G.

91, of Denver, died July 17, 2007, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Survived by "Poppe", his beloved wife of nearly 67 years; daughter Marcia Ragonetti and son Dr. Randall H. Lortscher, both of Denver, and son Dr. Loren C. Lortscher and grandson Peter Ragonetti, both of New York City; brother of Velasca Bauer of California. Born January 28, 1916, of Swiss immigrant parents. Appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1939; further studies at Kansas State Univ. Served his country from 1940-46, honorably retired as Lt. Commander. All-American Family from Nebraska in 1957. Senior buyer for Martin-Marietta; retired in 1973 as private investor. No funeral service. Inurnment in Sabetha, KS, his birthplace. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hal's name may be made to any charity. We bid fond farewell to a man of unique character, rare humor and true grit.
