Harold Glen McMurphy

September 9, 1946  -   April 1, 2019

72 years young

Harold was born to Dean and Lina McMurphy in Yuma, Colorado.  He worked as a truck driver, a mechanic, and a handyman with Kevin VanVleet and Hubert Disney for years.  He took pleasure in helping at Silver State Baptist Youth Camp, his church’s outreach.  He volunteered for any job that kept him active and helped those in need.

Harold accepted the Lord when Mr. Stine and Mr. Brown, a missionary, visited his home and answered his questions about the Bible.  We believe that the greatest epitaph available applies to his life “He never wavered from his faith in the Lord.”

He is survived by his wife, Diana (nee Spelts) and three daughters: Denise Haas, her husband, Doug, and their two children, Natalie and Brian; Sarena Hashbarger, her four children, Eric, Cassidy, Lilly, and Hayleigh; and Tricia with her son Leland.  His sister Janice lives near Grand Junction along with her family, Ralph, Tony, and Mike.

He is preceded by his parents, Dean and Lina, his maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

He often stated that he didn’t want flowers at his funeral.  In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation for his burial at Bellco.  Routing number 302075018  Account 601890874

Any funds received are not tax deductable.  Any gifts received beyond the cost of burial will be given to Silver State Baptist Youth Camp.
