Harleigh F. Fatzinger

Harleigh Franklin Fatzinger, Jr., 83, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away gently on Monday, March 11 after a brief illness. His son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons were by his side.
A memorial service celebrating Harleigh's life will be held at the Bullock Mortuary in Englewood, Colorado on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 1:00pm. Friends and family are encouraged to join Harleigh’s family for lunch at Pino’s Place restaurant in Englewood, immediately following the memorial.
Harleigh was born in Catasauqua, PA to Harleigh, Sr. and Catherine, and graduated from Catasauqua High School. He then attended Duke University in Durham, NC, graduating with a degree in Geology. He pitched for the Duke Blue Devils baseball team and was selected to the All Southeast Conference team his senior year.
After spending two years in the US Navy, stationed out of San Diego, Harleigh returned to Pennsylvania to earn a masters degree in Mineral Economics from Pennsylvania State University.
He then moved to Chicago to join Ryerson/Inland Steel, the company he would retire from as General Manager after over 30 years of service. During his time in Chicago, he courted and married Donna Nelson in April, 1965. Ryerson would move Harleigh and Donna to Grand Rapids, Michigan; Houston, Texas, where they adopted their son; Cleveland, Ohio, and finally, Littleton, Colorado.
He enjoyed skiing, fly fishing, as well as hosting wine tastings and touring vineyards. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Colorado Rockies, and Denver Broncos.
Harleigh is survived by his son, Leigh, daughter-in-law, Claudia, grandsons Joshua and Daniel, and sister Margaret Corcoran.
Harleigh is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his daughter, Catherine; his brother Frank Fatzinger; and sister, Catherine “Kitty” Williams.
