Gerald J. "Dude" Bullock

 Gerald J. "Dude" Bullock passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 in Gunnison, Colorado.  Dude was a native Coloradoan who was born in Julesburg on July 31, 1920.  He was raised in the Denver area.  He was one of four brothers who lived and went to school in Englewood.  He was married to his former high school sweetheart, Mary Alice Stokes, for 56 years and they raised 2 children.  In 2010 he moved to Gunnison to be with his son Jerry and daughter-in-law.

Dude was the consummate family man-a son, a brother, a husband, a father, grandfather, great grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend who always had a willing smile on his face.  He was also a member of the Greatest Generation who was an Army Air Corps P38 fighter pilot who fought through the Pacific front.  Throughout his life he was a tremendous role model who had a true love for the Colorado high country and Colorado history.

He was a Master Plumber and for over 60 years he owned and operated Bullock Plumbing and Heating from his home in Englewood.  He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and a life time member of the Elks.

He is survived by a daughter, Kay Tennant of Denver, a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Toni Bullock of Gunnison and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery with military honors.
