Georgiana Shaw Fales

Georgiana Shaw Fales, 85, passed away on January 21, 2018 in Westminster, Colorado.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Covenant Village of Colorado, 9151 Yarrow St, Westminster, CO, on February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Georgiana was born in Wichita, Kansas to James and Amelia Shaw on April 18, 1932. She
graduated from East High in Wichita and went on to earn degrees from Colorado College and
Columbia Teachers College in New York City. She taught 3rd grade in Wichita and Atlanta,
Georgia, and piano in Lakewood, Colorado. She married Clifford Fales in 1958, and they lived in Atlanta, Wichita, Lakewood, and Westminster. She was a faithful member of Lakewood Presbyterian Church for over 54 years, and served there as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and member of the Memorial Committee. Georgiana was a talented pianist and as a high school senior, won the "Weekend With Music" competition and traveled to New York City as a guest of the New York Philharmonic. She loved to read, travel, and write notes and letters to family and friends. Seven trips to England and Europe as well as domestic travels with Cliff gave her opportunities to make beautiful photo albums and add to her two treasured collections of antique ladies ivory notebooks and turtle figurines.

Georgiana is survived by her husband, Clifford Fales of Westminster; son, Peter (Diana Lorenz) Fales of Naperville, Illinois; daughter, Ellen Fales (Paul) Powell of Kapolei, Hawaii; grandchildren, Wesley Fales Powell, Matthew Lorenz Fales, and Amelia Anne Powell; brothers, Richard (Barbara) Shaw of Wichita, and James (LaVerna) Shaw of Hutchinson, Kansas; sisters-in- law, Jane Fales Roney of Orlando, Florida, and Sharon Fales of Athens, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Benevolent Fund of Covenant Village of Colorado, 9153 Yarrow St, Westminster, CO 80021.
