George W. Jacobs Jr., 69, of Arvada, Colorado better known as "Jake" passed away at his home on December 12, 2020 with his loving family by his side. He made his grand entrance into this world on June 09, 1951 in Garden City, Kansas. Jake served in the United States Navy on the USS Nathaniel Greene where he served as a Diver. After completing six years in the Navy he continued to serve his country joining the Army Reserves. During the span of 35 years he worked as a postal supervisor. Jake was highly educated he also had his Bachelors Degree in Criminology. Jake loved his family and his friends. He had the greatest sense of humor. He was kind, compassionate, and had the most amazing smile and best hugs. He had a heart of gold, but he would defend those he loved to a fault. His passions included: hunting, dogs, motorcycles, dog sledding, woodworking, silversmithing and target shooting. Billy and Zia his minnie aussies. Jake is survived by his wife of 33 years Joyce Helen Vigil Jacobs of Arvada, CO; sons Jeffrey Jacobs and  Daniel (Kaye) Jacobs, grandchildren Nevaeh Mae Jacobs, Frankie Jacobs, Matilyn Tayte Jacobs, brothers Steve Jacobs, Mike Jacobs, and Gary Jacobs, sister Cheryl (Danny) Taylor, Robert Vigil, Larry Vigil, Ron (Linda) Roybal and mother-in-law Marie Vigil.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Jake is preceded in death by his parents George and Edna Jacobs, sister Deanna McKinnon, and brother Tim Jacobs. Jake had a warrior soul and fought till the end. He will be missed by all that had the honor of knowing him. A Memorial Service for George will take place at Spirt of Christ Catholic Church located at 7400 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, CO 80003 beginning at 1:30pm. Please note these services are private. Services will be livestreamed at http://youtu.be/V30kg4qftFQ Inurnment will take place Wednesday, December 23, 2020. George will be missed by all that knew him, but one thing is certain he will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Red Cross.

Services have been entrusted to Stork-Bullock Mortuary of Lakewood, CO.

  2. I loved Jake very much, I have lots of wonderful memories one being when I bought my Dachshund puppy. Jake was holding him and the puppy (Harley) was sleeping in Jakes lap, I went to pic my puppy up and Jake said “ don't you know puppies bond while they are sleeping” ? And Jake, Joyce and I all started laughing. I love you Make and you will forever hold a place in my heart! ❤️

    You and Joyce were so much more to me than just co-workers. We went fishing together, we went to dinner together. We were friends. I thought the world of you. You will be missed. RIP Jake
