George R. Sack

On Thursday evening January 11, 2018 George R. Sack peacefully passed away into our Lord's loving arms with his family gathered to him. George was born on September 4, 1930 near Iliff, Colorado to John and Anna Sack. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, sister Anna and brothers John, Leo, Joe and James.

George is survived by sister Mary Stadler along with his brothers Lawrence, Albert and Robert, children Carol and husband Dan, Mike and wife Barbara, Ron, Bill, Donna and husband Dan, Jerry and Melissa as well as grandchildren Amanda, Ronnie, Michael, Robert, Adam, Andrew, Kyah, Elise, Kera, Kristen, Haley and great grandchild, Olivia who were his pride and joy!

George graduated from high school in Brighton, Colorado in 1950 after taking a year off of school to help with the family farm. He joined the Army and served in the Korean war. After the service, he returned home to Brighton to return to farming. He met his wife Dorothy through his friendship with her brother Don. They married the following year on February 12, 1955. They farmed in the areas surrounding Brighton. George loved his farming which included a dairy. He also worked for Great Western Sugar for a short time and then worked for the Colorado State Highway, from which he retired. George gave up the dairy farm, but never the farming. He continued to farm in the evenings and weekends.

Anyone that knew George would describe him as a gentle soul with strong faith. He always had a big smile on his face and was a kind and selfless man. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and playing pool when he was younger. He loved a good game of Uno (usually won because he was so quiet we forgot to watch him) and enjoyed the Price is Right and his Rockies and Broncos games.

We were blessed with the time we shared together and will miss the love of this special man. Dad you are missed by us all, but we will carry your love with us always. We love you very much!

Flowers may be sent to Stork Family Mortuary, 1895 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80214 to be delivered no later than Monday, January 22 by 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George's name to Denver Hospice at Lowry, 8299 E. Lowry Blvd., Denver, CO 80230 as they provided loving care for George in his finals days.
