Genevieve Winifred Joseph Innes was born July 22, 1915, in Ontario, Wisconsin, to Matilda and Herbert. She lived in Ontario all her growing-up years. She attended Beauty School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and went on to work for a shop in Milwaukee, the Plankinton Arcade. She went to Hillsboro, Wisconsin, and from there to Sparta, Wisconsin, as a manager in a beauty shop. Later she went on to become an instructor in a northern beauty college. She had various volunteer positions in several hospitals including Kenmore Mercy (Kenmore, NY), and Swedish Hospital (Englewood). She also was a volunteer receptionist at the Mally Senior Center in Englewood. Her hobbies included swimming, bowling, playing bridge and in her later years reading. Her significant life events include "getting married; having the Good Lord bless me with twins; a mother and father I loved dearly; grandmothers and grandfathers; good relatives, harmonious family get-togethers." Her strength was tackling projects and not resting until the job was done. Her feistiness, strength, optimism, lack of complaining and unselfish love for family and friends is memorable. When asked what advice you would give to your descendants, her reply was "Take one day at a time."

Beloved mother of Joyce & Jean (Milt), grandmother of Kirk (Sharron) and Kristine (Peter). Great grandmother of Kyle, Emily, Claire, Jake Joseph and Kayla. She is preceded in death by husband, J.L. Innes and sister, Velma. Service Bullock Colonial Chapel; Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at 10 A.M., interment, Fairmount Cemetery.
