Gary Wayne Sterger

gary sterger

Gary Wayne Sterger was born on March 5, 1951 at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado to Elizabeth and Manuel Sterger. He lived in the area for the duration of his life. When he was 18, Gary enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War and attended basic training in Seattle, Washington where he met the love of his life Jennifer Dalton. Gary was assigned to the Army post in Manheim-Kafertal Germany, where Gary and Jenny were married. They were married for 44 years before Jennifer passed away in 2015. They had two children (Shea and Justin) whom they loved very much. After Jennifer passed, Gary loved nothing more than spending time with his kids and their spouses (Kevin and Angi) and four grandchildren (Jordyn, Morgan, Jake, and Wyatt). He is also survived by his younger sister Cheryl, and had an older sister Betty Jean (who passed away in 2002).
Gary worked in sales the majority of his career, and had been employed for many years at Western Paper before his passing. He formed countless relationships and good friendships through his work in the Mountains and Denver area. He loved to travel (Jenny and Gary had countless tropical vacations) and loved fishing and boating in the Colorado mountains. We will always remember him for his sense of humor, engagement with his kids and grandkids, and immense love for those around him - friends and family. We all will miss him greatly.
