Frances Marian Rice
Frances Marian Rice (Taylor) was born and raised in Englewood, Colorado. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1940 (“Life Begins in ‘40”). Frances spent most of her adult life living in Englewood. She worked at National Camera Repair School for many years retiring in 1987. But her primary “job” in life was raising three children. They were the lights of her life.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, Sherman and Clara Taylor. She was also predeceased by her brother, Malcolm, and her sister Maxine. She is survived by her three children, Alan (Laguna Woods, CA), Carol (Gilbert, AZ), and Marilyn (Englewood, CO). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kristen, Philip, Russell, and Michael, and one great grandson, Zachary.
Private services have been held.
Freed from her earthly pain, may she rest in peace.
I lost a friend on Saturday, March 26. I had known her my entire life. There were times when she was my best friend, and there were times when I thought she was my only friend. She was also my Mom. Although we lived far apart, she was always with me in my heart. There were many times when I would visit her over the years. We would talk about what was going on in our lives, and at some point we would run out of things to say. What followed was a silence, but it was a comfortable silence. Now there is silence, and it is anything but comfortable.
RIP, Mom.
