Evelyn L. Wells
Evelyn was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. She was the youngest daughter with two older brothers. She graduated from Central High school in Sioux City and began working at the US Army base where she met the love of her life, Gordon. They were married September 26, 1945, and were blessed with 48 years together at the time of his passing.
They had three children: Deborah Boyer-Harris, Douglas Wells, and Kelly Simmons. She has four granddaughters: Jennifer Boyer, Rachel Boyer, Sarah Owen, and Katelyn Simmons. She has 5 great-grandchildren: Madison, Alexys, Shaylee, Zoe and Bentley; and is predeceased by a great- grandson, Hunter.
Evelyn was a homemaker while her children were younger, and began working for the Cherry Creek School district when Kelly entered elementary school. She worked in the school district for 25 years before retiring. She traveled extensively, enjoying cruises, traveling abroad with friends, and enjoyed road trips with her daughters. She enjoyed activities at Heather Gardens where she lived, and loved to read and spend time with her family and friends.
Her laughter and her beauty will be very much missed.
