  1. I met Ernie at St. Vincents Home for Children in the 1970s.He would visit the children as a representative of Denver Police Department. He was genial, patient and approachable. I was working as a youth counselor and appreciated the time he took with the kids. He was a good guy.

  2. Mr. Apodaca lent my father his tennis shoes so that my father could take the physical fitness test to be allowed to apply to the police academy. My father was a country boy, and he was wearing his only shoes, a pair of work boots. As he was being turned away, a man behind him said,

  3. Susan I'm sorry to hear about your dad he was a good guy. I lost my mom three years ago. I always got a kick out of your dad when he stopped at Safeway and see me he would always ask me if I had made my first million yet. I retired two years ago and never got to make that million. I often thought about your dad because I hadn't seen him in there for so long I hope he didn't have to suffer any. With heartfelt sympathy Debbie Wielgosz Padgett

  4. Susie and Bo and Laz, and their families: Our sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the passing of your father, and grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ernest was a special man. We always enjoyed visiting with him and Virginia. May he rest forever in Peace. Bless you all!
