ERIC CHRISTOPHER FINKS

Denver Police Officer Eric Finks died on August 2nd, 2017, after a brief illness. Eric was born on May 3rd, 1969, in Evanston, Illinois. After graduation from high school, Eric served with the United States Army, including 17 months on the Demilitarized Zone in Korea. Following discharge Eric earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris States University in Big Rapids, Michigan. During his career in law enforcement, Eric served in police departments in Michigan, and Aurora, Colorado, Eric ended his career as an officer with the Denver Police Department.
Eric is survived by his wife, Lisa Finks; his children Christopher, Maddalyn and Ethan; his sister and brother in law Valarie and Jay Van Kam; nephew Logan Van Kam; parents Mason and Virginia Finks; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd in Denver on Tuesday, August 8th, at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at 1:15 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, staging area C. Both police and military honors will be observed.
Memorials may be made to the Orphans Fund of the Denver Police Department.
