Emily Louise MacLaurin Dangel, 74, of Centennial, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at Azura of Lakewood Rehab. Center. She was recovering from a stroke suffered Oct. 31. She is survived by her husband Ray of Centennial, two daughters, Ruth Anne Tolbert and husband Roger of Vicksburg, MS, and Susan Kay Dangel and partner Becky of Broomfield, CO; a brother, John Peter MacLaurin and wife Sharon of Columbus, OH; a granddaughter, Rebecca Anne Lee-Harting and husband Aaron of Houston, TX, and a great-grandson, Eliot David Ray Harting of Houston. She was born Dec. 12, 1937 in Lakewood, OH, and attended Lakewood High School and Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH, and graduated cum laude from Colorado Women's College in Denver in 1975. She married Ray Dangel May 16, 1959, and they had lived in Centennial since 1970. She had a private practice as a Feldenkrais� and Healing Touch practitioner and was a volunteer for many years at St. Luke's Medical Center as the Healing Touch Team Leader. Being of Scottish-Norwegian descent, she played bagpipes for the Colorado St. Andrews Pipe Band and the City of Denver Pipe Band. She enjoyed Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging, Ohara School, and liked to read, garden and walk. A private memorial service will be held for family and friends but the time and place have not been set.
