Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Wood
December 23, 1927 ~ August 2, 2023
Betsy was born on December 23, 1927 in Palmetto, FL to Al and Cecil Moore. She is predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband Don Wood. Don and Betsy lived in Englewood, CO for many years until Don’s passing in 2005.
Betsy is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Floyd) Nishi of Erie, CO, son Steve (Mary) Wood of Centennial, CO, sister Carol (Frank) Pinkerton of Coeur d’Alene, ID and brother Tom (Nancy) Moore of Arvada, CO. Betsy loved and supported her 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren including many, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention here.
Betsy was very involved in her community i.e., Eastern Star and the Lions Club luncheons in Englewood and the Arapahoe County Santa Claus Shoppe to name a few. She never met a stranger. Outside of her family Betsy loved knitting, sewing and her rose garden. Her Tuesday morning coffee with the church ladies was not to be missed. She was a fantastic organizer! If you needed something now, give the task to Betsy: Done!
Betsy will be laid to rest next to Don at Ft. Logan National Cemetery during a family graveside service with the family going afterwards to “Southwest Community Church, 4001 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Littleton, CO, 80123 where you may join us at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023 for a celebration of Betsy’s life in a memorial service.
Sadly, remembering our loss of Aunt Betsy and her wonder-filled talent at sparking conversation. This t-shirt is worn in her memory as we travelled for 7 years annually to Denver for my husband to officiate in the Fireworks Tournament when she always invited long talks while I waited for sports official clothing to be laundered. In loving memory.
