Elizabeth Ann Gillette (Liza) passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado at the age of 46. Liza was born in Waukegan, Illinois on May 28, 1964. Her family moved to the Green Mountain area from Round Lake, Illinois in 1972.

Liza was known as a “wonderful mom” and an “amazing mom” by her children, Nick, Venessa, and MiKayla. Her father Richard “Dick” Ehler, thought of her as the “pumpkin” of his eye. Dick preceded Liza in death 13 years ago. For Trudy, her mother, Liza will be remembered as an exceptionally creative daughter, and someone to walk through life with. After the death of her father, Liza looked up to and loved her mother’s husband Max as her second father. She not only was a super sister to Laurie, but was also her best friend. Her brother Mike preceded her in death in 2004, and was her closest friend. To her nieces and nephews, Ben, Reiley, Karlie and Jesslyn, she was best known as “Zebra Liza” and Aunt Liza to Bo and his two sons Lance and Logan.
Liza will be greatly missed by her childhood and life-long friend Ray Hernandez and family. She is also loved and remembered by the Gillette family. She has numerous other family members, aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her dearly.
Liza worked for the USPS for many years. She would work the night shift so that she could be available to participate in the school activities of her children. From the time the children were in Kindergarten through their Senior year of High School, Liza could be found at their many school functions. She was a second mother for many of their friends, and often took them in to live with her when needed. Many still call her “Mom”.
Home Depot has been her family away from home for quite a few years. She began working in the garden department, becoming a Master Gardener, and most recently took on the responsibility of the store signs. Liza was a very talented artist, painting many murals in the training and lunch rooms of many Home Depot stores. Her talent can also be seen on many of the Home Depot “Orange Aprons” .
