Edward Anema

edward anema

Born July 4, 1918 in Orange City, Iowa. Devoted husband of Helen for 65 years, and
loving father of Jan (Ken) Oosterhouse, Marie (Earl) Shaffer, Helen Claire Anema,
Charlene (Jim) Bronsink, and Adele (Steve) Kroonenberg. Ed was the proud
grandfather of 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by
brothers George and Charles, sister Elizabeth and son-in-law Earl Shaffer. After
battling pneumonia, Ed peacefully met his Lord on November 28. Ed was the owner and
operator of A & A Electric for several decades in the Denver area. After retiring
in the mid 1970's, he went on to a career of commercial and residential realty for
several years. Ed was a committed member of the Gideons and volunteered for years
for the World Home Bible League. Spreading God's written word was a priority for
him. He treated every one he met with dignity and respect. He will be dearly
missed, but our loss is Heaven's gain - the angels have a wonderful bass joining
them in praises to his Lord and Savior. A memorial service will be held on Monday,
Dec. 3 at the First Christian Reformed Church, 1814 S. Emerson St., at 6:30 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Denver Christian Schools, 2135 S.
Pearl St., Denver, CO 80210 or Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN
37214. For those who wish, there will be viewing at Bullock Mortuary, 1375 E.
Hampden Ave. on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
