Ednamarie (Westerberg) Leslie, 96, passed away on January 28, 2018 at Littleton Hospital surrounded by family.

Ednamarie was born in Axtell, Nebraska to The Rev. Andrew and Emma (Nelson) Westerberg. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. After high school she worked with her father in the Lutheran Synod office. She met Clarence, her husband of 74 years, while he was a ministry student serving at her father’s church in Sioux City. They married in 1940, raised four children and worked side by side serving churches in Iowa, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, again in Iowa, and finally in Colorado. For the 20 years prior to retirement, she worked at Grandview College in Des Moines as book store manager.

Ednamarie was a lively, free spirited, and strong woman. She loved stirring things up, listening to news, and discussing everything, from politics to religion and family. She had a great sense of humor, was witty, and loved to tell stories. She was a natural entertainer, making everyone who visited in her home feel welcomed. She put on lavish dinner parties, loved to sew, bake and garden. She had a strong faith in God, was a great partner to her husband in his churches, whether attending church meetings, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, or directing a church play. She and Clarence loved to travel, touring parts of the Far East, The Holy Land, Europe and Scandinavia.

Ednamarie was preceded in death by her husband (d.2015 at age 103), parents, brother and 2 sisters. She is survived by son Daniel (Bonnie) of Minneapolis, Mn., son Stephen (Debbie) of St Cloud, Mn, daughter Becky Dorr (Larry) of Denver, Co and son Philip of Littleton, Co.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
