Doyle H Pratt 1928-2012 Husband, Father, Veteran, Police Officer After living a full and wonderful life, Doyle Pratt, of Littleton, passed away 28 May 2012. He was born 3 Jan 1928 in Taloga Oklahoma to John Hiram and Sarah Elizabeth Pratt. Doyle was the youngest of four children and grew up in Grand Island NE and Fort Collins CO. Doyle joined the US Navy at 17 and served nine years as a Radarman in both WW2 and Korean. He served on two destroyers, an oiler, and an attack cargo ship. He joined the Denver Police Department in 1956. He retired after 25 years of dedicated and decorated service to the community he called home. In 1952 he married Dolores Nuss of Longmont, CO they celebrated 60 wonderful years together. He is survived by his wife, sons Douglas (Linda) & Michael, and sister Rosemary Steele. Doyle is also survived by: his three granddaughters Kimberly (Tom) Siepmann, CA, Liz Smith, UT, & Katie Pratt, CO; two great-grandsons Aiden & Collin, UT; his sister-in-law Marion Pratt, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly. Doyle is preceded in death by his brothers Fred and Robert and his daughter Cynthia. He had a passion for the outdoors including gardening, boating, and fishing in addition to being an avid poker player. Doyle enjoyed traveling and visited almost every state. Doyle fondly remembered his Navy buddies and traveled to the reunions for all four ships. His time spent with family and friends was cherished most of all. Doyle had a sparkle in his eyes and a smile that connected with everyone he met. He will be remembered for his quick wit, caring personality and concern for others. He was a unique and special person that touched so many. He brought laughter and friendship to everyone he met and will remain in our hearts forever. Doyle provided 31 years of service to his country, it is apropos that his passing was on Memorial Day. His remains will be interned at Fort Logan national cemetery at 10:15 on 22 June 2012. Arrive, by 10AM at Staging area C which can be reached thru the north gate off Sheridan Blvd. A "Celebration of Life" reception will be held at 11:30 on the 22nd of June at Concordia on the Lake events center.
