Douglas Wayne Kidd

Douglas W. Kidd left his family and friends on November 26, 2018, at the age of 67. A Navy veteran, he served from 1969-1972, on the U.S.S. Blakley. A newly comissioned ship at the time, he was a proud plank owner of the ship.

Doug was a private driver for one family, for 27 years. They became a family to him, and it was a job he loved doing. He was very attached to his social media friends, and his special chat rooms for various television shows. Always entertaining them with his wit and humor. He was an avid Broncos, Rockies and Avalanche fan for many years, and was there to see several championships won.

Doug is survived by his two sister, Kathy Suntken and Mary Ann Gallagher. His only niece Bree, and her family, Robert, Elizabeth and Ethan, and three nephews, Jeffrey, Toby and Ronnie.

Doug will be dearly missed by his family, as well as his friends that became his family.

Services at Ft. Logan National Cemetery are pending. Check back in January for the date. You are welcome to leave a memorial message on this site. We would love to hear your stories. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local veterans group, or a diabetes foundation.
