Donovan O'Dell

donovan o'dell

Donovan Paul O’Dell at age 74 is survived by his younger brother Douglas, wife Geraldine, children Jeanenne and Amanda, and grandchildren Lydia, Rheawynn, Elora, and Killian. Donovan was a man of greatness, passion, and community. He left a lasting impression on people from all walks of life, and lived each day with his own vivacious and unique sense of humor. As a Colorado native he had a deep love of nature and enjoyed many outdoor activities. Some of his time outdoors was spent canvasing for causes or candidates that he believed would make a better world. Many people told Donovan how smart he was, but Donovan would explain that even though many things didn’t come naturally to him that he dedicated time into learning through meticulous repetition. He undoubtedly perfected this repetition by running a family business with his wife and children for well over 25 years. Ultimately the things that Donovan spent his life on were family, nature, and community. He was a man of strength who had recovered from several injuries, but in the end was ready for peace. He spent his last days visiting with family and close friends. His wife and daughters sang him to sleep and watched over him until he peacefully slipped away on September 18, 2022. He is a man who left his mark in everything he did. He will be remembered and missed for generations to come. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2023 the date and venue is still to be determined.

Guestbook

  1. Don O'Dell was one of a kind. I met him when I married his cousin, Gerald Phillips who is now deceased. They shared many stories of when they were young. All happy memories. I hope they are together again and sharing the fun times they had. I know Gerald loved Don like a brother.

  2. Some 14 years ago when I was 12 years old, I sent Donovan a friend request on Facebook as he was the first person I'd ever seen with the same name as I. Sad to see he has passed.
