David James Phillips

David James Phillips was born July 29, 1927 in Denver. He died July 9, 2016 in Denver.  David is the 9th child of 10 of Wiley Younger Phillips and Fannie Lytle Phillips.  He was raised at 2005 So. Lipan and attended Denver public schools.  David loved his family and spoke of their importance in his life. His memories often reflected on his involvement in baseball, football and boxing. He became an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. David worked for the Denver Housing Authority for 25 years and retired as a maintenance supervisor.  David was preceded in death by his parents Wiley Younger Phillips & Fannie Lytle Phillips, his son, David James “Sonny” Phillips, and his grandson Brandon Phillips.  He is survived by his daughter Sherry (Dave) Dawkins, son Dan Phillips, 7 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren. He was truly loved by his extended family who are comforted with the knowledge that David is with his Lord and Savior. Services will be held at Amazing Grace Church, 3325 South Federal Blvd. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. (Viewing one hour prior to service). Private family interment will be held at Littleton Cemetery.
