David Franklin Chantala

David Franklin Chantala of Lakewood, Colorado passed away Sunday September 3rd, 2017 at the age of 77. He was born on September 26th, 1939 to Frank J and Helen Marie Chantala, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was the second oldest of 8 children.
David was a man of many talents, with many hobbies and careers, throughout his lifetime. He was a gifted craftsman, who enjoyed working with his hands. He loved working and sailing on his hand built boat, the "Golden Grotto." He obtained his pilot's license in his younger years and loved flying his airplane. He had a great sense of humor and especially enjoyed teasing his family and friends. He was an excellent chef who enjoyed grilling, cooking, and sharing meals with his family. He was a talented artist and writer, who published two books after he retired at the age of 72. Most of all, he was a loving spouse and father who enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his loving wife, Abbey; son David Troy Chantala; daughter, Tracie (Geoff) Siebenneicher; daughter, Tammie Chantala Matthews; daughter, Elizabeth (Jim Elkin) Chantala-Elkin; daughter, Nicole (Todd) Moore; son, Chase (Jayme) Chantala; and 12 grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday September 8th, 2017, at:
Bethlehem Lutheran Church
