David Austin Gomes

 

David Austin Gomes was born on June 22, 1963 and passed away May 12, 2017. He was the son of Austin Gomes and Sheila Gomes (deceased) and survived by Lisa Normann (wife) and children Joshua Gomes (Rachel), Jessica Gomes (Nick), and sisters Linda Whitmarsh (Rick), Margaret Uncapher (Patrick), Kathy Jenkins (David), Anne Reker (Ricky), Michelle Schueller (Jeff) – 3 Grandchildren (Dylan, Jackson, Cooper) 4 nieces (Jennifer, Alyssa, Megan, Erin) and 4 nephews (Christopher, Eric, Ryan, Kyle) and 1 great niece (Isabella).  David was born and grew up in Englewood, Colorado. He graduated from Englewood High School and went on to start his career with the City of Englewood.  David worked in the water industry for approximately 35 years.  He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors.  He was active by fishing, biking, swimming, and gardening.  In high school, David developed a love for weight lifting, this would be a lifelong passion of his.  He enjoyed competing and the friendships that resulted from the hours spent in the gym.   David loved his children and grandchildren and treasured the time spent with them. 

Memorial Mass will be held at Hudson Gardens "The Inn at Hudson Gardens" (6115 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, CO 80120) on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. (For a map of Hudson Gardens and a location of "The Inn", please click the photographs tab on the left side of this page)

To the Gomes family my heart is heavy on this difficult time I new David from high school and threw our friends In Englewood last time i saw him was at the gym and we talked about the day at Englewood in sports and how our lives has change and wished we could go back and chand some thing I wish you bro peace and no more stresses in our lives and look over all of us and help us with our stuggles in ourselfs god bless and when I am in the gym I will always think of you god bless you RHINO!

  6. David I will miss you so much. You were so fun to hang around with. I won'the forget the times when we were in your car, and you would see some girls, so you would tell me to get down on the floor and whistle at them for you!
    I just wish I had the chance to see you again, so I could tell you how much you mean to me. It is not going to be the same without you. You were a great brother and friend. I love you so much David you will never be forgotten. RIP

  9. Lisa – I am so very sorry! I rarely get on Facebook and just happened to see the news. I only met David once but was so impressed with his warm personality and electrifying smile…plus, I know he made you so happy! My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.
