Daniel Gregory Tafoya

daniel tafoya

Daniel G. Tafoya was born to the late Ernest and
Dolores Tafoya. Daniel was blessed to be born to a family filled with strength, trust, love, and devotion and this showed in how he treated everyone he met. He wore his heart on his sleeve, was the life of the party, and never met a stranger.

Daniel served in the U.S. Navy from 1984-1988. Although away from his family during this time he built lifelong friendships with his shipmates. He was a Local 455 Teamster for over 30 years and had just made his retirement from the union.

Daniel and Rachael were married May 13, 1995 and shared a life together for 27 years. We love fiercely our life together and we have had thousands of perfect moments.

Dan helped raise his four children with patience and humor. He loved the outdoors and taught his children and grandson to hike, fish and camp. He was always most at home in the mountains.

Danny was meant to be a granddad. He showed incredible tenderness with his grandkids. You could find him on the floor playing, reading, or running around causing chaos. He was overjoyed recently to welcome a new baby to our family.

He was looking forward to walking his daughter down the aisle to see her married to her soulmate.

There are not enough words to adequately describe his life or the love he leaves behind. He will be missed dearly by his loved ones.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Rachael; his sons Joseph, Wyatt,
and Garret; his daughter Patricia; his
grandchildren Noah Rosas, Analicia Garcia, and Luke Baca; his sisters Susan Pavon, and Pamela Galusha; as well as nieces and nephews and the many people who love and adore him.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Tafoya; his grandson Leo Garcia; and his parents.

  3. My most memorable memories of my primo Danny were all the times we got to gather at parties reminiscing laughing and joking. But my most special memory is I got to see him and talk to him before all this happened. I love you primo♥️

  4. Where do I begin… I have many memories of you but my favorite part about you is how selfless you were. My most recent favorite memory of you was at Noah's graduation. You went to take a picture with your little buddy, and you put your arms around Si Si wheelchair and included him in the picture as your grandson. Little did you know as I watched the picture snap I went all the way back to when I was a little girl wanting to take a picture with her step dad. I felt silly, and didn't. Instead I admired you from afar knowing I would see you again. Now your gone. After all these years you have kept pictures of me and my son I had no idea. I feel so loved by you. This is why you are so selfless. I love you pops always and forever. Until we meet again I will be here watching over your beautiful daughter- my sister, and your little buddy. Love, Sabrina 💔

  5. My AWESOME and crazy cousin Danny I will miss all the laughter and jokes! I will miss always having you behind me NO MATTER WHAT! My favorite memories are Halloween as youngsters and making a hounded house in the garage in in aunts and uncles house… You, Mark and Michael playing stunt men and jumping off the roof in flames 🔥 Haha OMG!!! I remember going roller skating and all of us going out as we got older…. We were always trouble!!! Haha I MISS you so much and YOU will live forever and ever in my heart ♥️ Rest in Heaven 😭😭😭😭😭 Your cousin NayNay lol I bet you remember the first time someone called me that Haha XO

  6. My big bro was the best brother I couldn't have asked for better. My brother always looked out for me, especially after my husband Alex passed away he was always calling and making sure I was okay!! Every year for our birthdays we would see who could get the funniest birthday card for the other and we both were always doing something funny at our family get togethers. Just knowing I will never see your name pop up on my phone when you would call me and say “what's up sis” tears are streaming down my face. I just don't understand why you had to go so soon!! I miss you so much it hurts!!!
    Love your lil sis ♥️♥️

  7. My lifelong friend and Brother.
    My Homeboy, My Carnál
Nobody could make me laugh like Danny and nobody made him laugh like I did.
His quick wit was only matched by his love for his family and his friends.
Our lives as friends and experiences growing up and as adults are too many to list here.
Suffice it to say that in the 41 years we had a lot of great times, laughed together and shared our sorrows
I look forward to the day he and I will see my Brother once more and laugh together again
I've never had a closer friend in this world and I never will .
