Curtis Dale Dean
02/15/1949 – 06/03/2023

Curt passed away in hospice care on June 3 after a 7-year journey with Alzheimer’s
Disease. He was born in southern Colorado to Tom and Bessie Dean. Curt was a graduate of
Golden High School, Golden, CO; served six years with the Colorado Air National Guard (Air
Force); and retired after 36 years with Coors Brewery in Golden, CO. Throughout his life, Curt
enjoyed his boat, water skiing, snow skiing, and competitive drag racing. He was a big fan of
professional sports, particularly the Denver Nuggets and Denver Broncos. Curt was a very kind
and humble man, with a sincere heart and happy disposition. He loved going to movies, stage
productions, concerts, comedy shows, sporting events, social gatherings, fun travels, and
anywhere there was laughter, good company and good food.
Curt’s spirit will be forever cherished by his high school sweetheart and loving partner of
20 years, Deb Pottenger of Lakewood, CO. He will be deeply missed by his nephew, Tommy
Dean of Grande Prairie, TX; and Curt’s step-daughter, Jamie Spotswood (and family) of Dayton,
TX.
Curt felt so fortunate to have lived a good life with many wonderful friends, co-workers,
drag racing buddies, and classmates.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Darol Dean; and his dear
friend and classmate, Kenny Vogeler.
The family is tremendously grateful for the attentive and compassionate care Curt
received from countless medical professionals and personal care providers during recent
months and years.
Curt was crazy about his sassy little Chihuahua, Lucy, a rescue, who gave him so much
comfort through his later years.
