Chester Thomas Adam

Chester (Chet) was born in Derby Line, Vermont on August 2, 1930 to Charles
John Adam and Millie Ethel Hill. He was the third child, with two older sisters, Barbara
Adam Campbell and Beverly Adam Marsh. He attended Derby Academy in Derby Line
and on graduation in 1948 enlisted in the United States Navy. He was first assigned to
a communications carrier in Bayonne, New Jersey and then in 1950 reassigned to the
LSM125. The ship was sent to Hokkaido, Japan as part of the peacekeeping force.
After his discharge he moved to Chicago where he met and married Sally Mannino on
May 4, 1957. Chet and Sally moved from Chicago to Northglenn, Colorado in July 1966
where the family still resides. Three children were born to them: Julie Ann Burnside
(Steve), Charles Philip Adam (Anita), and Vernon Anthony Adam. He had six
grandchildren, Jeremy Burnside, Ian Burnside, Sarah Adam Ganiszewski, Emily Adam,
Chester J. Adam, and Madison Adam. He also had one great grandson, James Joseph
Ganiszewski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of Thornton
VFW Post 7945 and was a past commander of that Post. He and Sally attended
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish in Northglenn.
