Ches went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2010. He was born on November 24, 1917 in McVille, North Dakota, to Carl Albert and Hannah Petrina Joransen. Ches married Evelyn Harriet Jensen on June 20, 1942 in Chicago. They honeymooned on the train to New York City and spent the remainder of World War II in New Jersey while Ches was working for Bell Laboratory. After the war they moved back to Chicago where they lived until 1964 when he was transferred to the Denver area. Ches had begun his career with Western Electric when he was a teenager and retired in 1982 after more than 47 years with the same company. Ches and Ev have three daughters: Janet Christiansen of Phoenix AZ, Joyce Joransen of Denver CO, and Jean Ellis of Denver CO, and one grandchild, Lance Christiansen. Ches was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a much beloved Uncle - known affectionately as Uncle Ted. He loved his family beyond all else. Ev was the love of his life. Ches is survived by his daughters, grandson, sister Ruth Andresen, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Ches will be held Saturday, July 31 in the Fellowship Hall at The Suites at Holly Creek, 5590 E. Peakview Ave. Centennial, CO at 1:00 PM.
