Cheryl Ann Moore
July 1, 1956 ~ January 22, 2021
Cheryl Ann Moore went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2021. Cheryl was
born in Denver, Colorado on July 1, 1956, the daughter of Earl and Enid Straub, also of
Denver. She is survived by her life long friend, James G. Moore, Jr. (Jim), a niece
Karen, and a nephew Jeff. Her sister Lynn predeceased Cheryl. Cheryl is also survived
by her friend since childhood, Paula Colorosa of Arvada, Colorado.
Cheryl took on the nickname “Dolly” early in life, because she was small in stature. But
her small stature belied a heart that was huge in kindness and generosity for others.
Dolly graduated from North High School in Denver.
On November 20, 1982 Dolly married James Moore of Denver, Colorado. Dolly and Jim
had a wonderful 26 years together, sharing life as best friends. They enjoyed traveling
to places such as Boston, Washington DC, Disneyland in California, San Diego,
Disneyworld in Orlando, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Cozumel in Mexico, and a most
memorable European bus tour. Throughout life they shared a love for animals, Jim
being the dog lover and Dolly loving cats. They were proud pet parents to Friskie,
Duchess, Buddy and Misty.
Although life circumstances pulled Dolly and Jim apart for a few years, toward the
waning years of Dolly’s life, they were closer than ever. Dolly’s medical situation
dictated that the later years in her life were spent in assisted living facilities and, finally,
at the Cherry Creek Nursing Home. But Dolly didn’t let this get her down. She spread
kindness and a beautiful heart to those around her.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Stork-Bullock Mortuary of Lakewood
Sweet Dolly I'm so sad to know you're gone but am glad you are home with the Lord. I have so many fond memories of you, and love you so much.
