Charles Turner
March 15, 1935 ~ December 27, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Willis Turner, a loving husband and devoted father, who left us on December 27, 2024. Charles passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, with his loyal wife of 64 years Cecilia Turner holding his hand.
Charles was born on March 15, 1935, in Harlingen, TX, the son of Dearl and Grace Turner. From an early age, he displayed a spirit of resilience and determination, traits that would come to define his life and his relationships.
Charles met the love of his life, Cecilia in Houston, TX, and together they built a life full of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. They met life’s challenges together, facing everything that came their way with grace and dedication. Their bond was a testament to love and commitment, serving as a guiding light to all who knew them.
As a father, Charles was firm but resolute in his love for his sons. He poured his heart into raising his sons Troy and Justin into steadfast men. His greatest joy came from watching them grow, celebrating their successes, and guiding them through challenges with wisdom and strength. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines, sharing life lessons, or simply being present, his love was constant.
Charles was known for his resilience in the face of adversity. He approached life with courage, acceptance, perseverance, and an unshakeable belief in God. His legacy is one of unwavering dedication to his family, his beliefs, his passions, and his values.
Beyond his family, Charles was a licensed minister of the Assemblies of God and had a passion for the Royal Rangers. ‘Grayfeather’ as he was known in Royal Rangers, found joy in developing countless men and boys into leaders through his ministry.
Charles is survived by his wife Cecilia, and his sons Troy and Justin, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to his passion, the New Mexico Royal Rangers at https://www.rangerheritage.org/donate in Charles’ honor.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in the countless memories of joy, love, and strength that Dad gifted us. His love will continue to guide and inspire us every day.
Rest in peace, you will be forever loved and deeply missed.
I Miss You Dad. Always Will.
