Charles Ronald Decker died peacefully at St. Anthony’s Hospital on April 24, 2020 surrounded by his three daughters.  Chuck was born in Omaha, NB to Earle L. and Mabel I. (Charles) Decker on October 18, 1932.  He grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls.  He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated in 1955 with a BS in Business Administration.  He joined the Army following graduation and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He married Suzanne Enyeart in 1957 and they had three girls Lori, Leslie and Lisa.  When the girls were very young they moved from Nebraska to Colorado and he lived in the Wheatridge/Golden area for the rest of his life.  He worked as a salesman for Sinclair, Bankers Life and as a realtor during his adult life, as well as a pottery sales rep for garden centers until he was 77 years old.

He loved and treasured times with his three daughters as they grew up and as adults, and then they blessed him with his grandchildren.  He adored each and every grandchild and they brought him great joy as they also grew up.   He was so very proud of each one of them.  He most recently had two very special great-grandsons that he adored.

He loved Colorado and spent many summers gardening and planting tomatoes and peppers from seed for all of his children and grandchildren to plant in our gardens.  He also shared his love for gardening with lots of picking of champagne grapes and blackberries in his back yard.  He told us just weeks before his passing that his most treasured moments were the annual Father’s Day picnics at the park and the giant family dinners for birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas where he was surrounded by all those who loved him.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his three daughters M. Lorraine (Lori) Clark (Damon), Leslie A. Tuggle, and Lisa K. Janich (Ed), his grandchildren Torin K. Clark (Allie), Garrett R. Clark (Brittney), Heather R. Venechuk (Nathan), Billy J. Tuggle, Rachael N. Janich, Josh Z. Janich and two great grandsons Theodore W. Clark and Huxley Decker Clark (named after his G’pa and Grammie’s maiden name).

Family will be having a private memorial at a later date when the circumstances permit.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Meals on Wheels  2660 Larimer St.  Denver, CO 80205-9922.
