Charles Q. Rissmiller, Sr.
November 26, 1926 ~ September 15, 2017
LITTLETON, COLORADO – Charles “Chuck” passed away on September 15, 2017, at the age of 90, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Louise (nee McKelvin) in 2006. He leaves behind his dear friend Mary (Condrin), and his three children: Mark (Marilyn), Hope Salvatori (Vince) and Charles II (Cindy) along with 8 grandchildren: Stephanie (Salvatori), Jesse, Jody, Seth Rissmiller; Zachary, Dustin, Ashlea (McDonald), and Chelsea Rissmiller. And 11 great-grandchildren: Brittni, Maria (Salvatori-Togni); Brady, Cooper, Ellie (McDonald); Adeline; Quentin, Isabella; James, Emma; Scott Rissmiller and one due in October, a boy.
Born in Gordon, PA on November 26, 1926 he moved to Middle River, MD when he was 13. He joined the Navy at 15 when WWII broke out and served on the USS Massachusetts Battleship for four years participating in battles in North Africa and the South Pacific. After the war, he re-enlisted and served two years in the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, DC.
Louise and he were married in 1947 in Middle River, MD where he went to work for Glenn L. Martin (now known as Lockheed-Martin) In 1960 he was transferred with the Titan Space Program and moved his family to Littleton, where he worked until his retirement in 1989.
He loved flying, photography, music, dancing, golfing, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family.
Funeral services will be held on September 23rd at 2:00PM, at the Greenwood Community of Christ Church, 1695 E. Orchard Road, Littleton, CO. followed by inurnment with his wife, Louise, in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local VFW in his name.

A limb has fallen from the family tree

The good life I lived while I was strong.
