Bud Turk passed away peacefully on March 22, 2018, at his home in the company of family. He was born in Loma Linda, CA on July 20, 1929. He lied about his age and joined the Merchant Marines when he was 15 years old. He served proudly in the pacific war zone during World War II from 1944 to 1949. After returning home from the war, he joined the San Bernardino, CA Fire Department. He also became a magician and a hypnotist. Although he always had a warm place in his heart for his fellow firefighters. At a seminar in San Francisco, while performing his hypnotic demonstration, it was obvious that Bud was in the wrong business, and he was offered and accepted a lucrative sales position. He soon formed his own company and eventually had offices across the country. He was ahead of his time. His products included water softeners, built-in vacuum systems and wireless remote speaker systems with cassette tapes. He introduced color television to Denver. In 1976, Bud formed his real estate company, Prestige Properties, and continued his successful business until his retirement. He spent much of his time on his yacht in Mission Bay, CA and his second home in Carlsbad, CA. Bud had a joke for just about any subject you could think of. When challenged to come up with a joke, he always came through. Bud was successful in all aspects of sales and was called "the Granddaddy of them all" by his peers. If you knew Bud, you know he was an avid collector of radio controlled model airplanes, helicopters, boats and cars. He fulfilled another of his aspirations when he opened his upscale toy store, Prestige Toys for Big Boys. His motto was "the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys." Bud and Roxie were married in Las Vegas on May 21,1961, combining their six children and added two more together. He loved his family and was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and Great-Great Grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Roxie, daughters Marla Brew of Santa Monica, CA, La Donna De Barros of Fountain Valley, CA, Deborah Findley of Port Hueneme, CA, Sherilyn Alsgood of Loomis, CA, and stepson, Scott Fogarty of Riverside, CA. He was predeceased by son Ronald J. Turk, daughter, Marcella (Marci) Block, and stepdaughter Karen Lynn Beadle. A Grandfather of 14, Great Grandfather of 10 and Great-Great Grandfather of 1. Bud was loved by all and will be deeply missed. His memorial is planned for Monday, May 21, 2018, which would have been Bud and Roxie's 57th anniversary.
