Brennan Coffelt

March 27, 1969 ~ June 12, 2012
Brennan Matthew Coffelt was born on March 27th, 1969, the youngest son of Bernadette Scheiber Coffelt and Charles Coffelt. Brennan was the youngest of three children. He is survived by his father, Charles, his brother, Jeremy (of Santa Ana, California), and his sister, Kerstin (of Littleton, Colorado).
Brennan attended both St. Mary’s Catholic School and All Souls Catholic School. He graduated from Heritage High School in 1987. He attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Metropolitan State College where he studied Behavioral Science.
Brennan, his family, and his cousins (from the Bruno family and the Moore family), spent many happy summers enjoying trips to Paonia, Colorado and the North Fork Valley. Some of Brennan’s happiest memories were his summers spent in Paonia playing “kick-the-can” at the Black Canyon National Park, climbing “The P,” (otherwise known as Cedar Hill), and having fun at the 4th of July “Cherry Days” celebration at the Paonia Park.
Brennan had a special love of history and a strong interest in the past. He was fascinated with historical artifacts. Many times he shared with us interesting facts and stories of history.
Brennan also had a love for old cars. He was very knowledgeable about mechanics, and owned several antique automobiles. He enjoyed going to car shows and really appreciated the work that went into these cars.
We also remember Brennan for his witty sense of humor. He made us all laugh with his uncanny spot-on imitations of life. He loved to laugh and make us all laugh.
But most of all, we remember Brennan for his kindness and generousity. He truly had a kind, and loving heart. He helped so many people in need, whether it be a homeless person in need of money or a ride, or even a little lost dog looking for his home. He loved animals. He was happiest when he was giving to others or helping others. For everyone who knew Brennan, you know that he has done something kind for you – that was just the way Brennan was.
We will miss you Brennan – go in the peace of Christ.
