Obituary for Brenda Lee Phillips July 22, 1957 -- November 07,2011 Brenda was born on July 22,1957 in Denver, Co. She was the daughter of Marvin and Geraldine Pfeifer. Brenda grew up in Thornton, Co. Brenda had one brother Mark, and one sister Cindy. Brenda had one niece Tamara, and two nephews, Brian and Kevin. Brenda loved her niece and nephews very much. She thought the world of Tamara and Kevin's children. When Brenda was 12 years of age she played the accordion. The weight of the accordion caused her back to hurt. This resulted in her parents taking her to the doctor. It was at this time that they discovered Brenda had scoliosis, which would turn out to give Brenda problems the rest of her life. When Brenda was fourteen her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Brenda took care of her mom during this time. When her mom died she again stepped up to the plate and help her dad with the daily chores. How I met Brenda My mom also had breast cancer and was being treated at Saint Joseph Hospital. Brenda worked at Saint Joseph Hospital. My mom asked the technician that was treating her if she was married because she had a son that was single. She told my mom that she was married but the girl at the front desk was single. My mom got Brenda's phone number and gave it to me. Luckily when I called Brenda she had just broken up with her boyfriend. We started dating in 1981 and on June 11, 1983 we got married. Brenda and I had 28 very very wonderful years together. I do not know what I will do without her. We both loved the movies and eating out, which we did once a week. One week she would pick the movie, the next week I would pick the movie. Over the 28 years we took several wonderful vacations together- -Hawaii, Europe, Disney World two times, plus several other places. Brenda loved to sew. She was an exceptionally good quilter. She taught classes in quilting. From attending quilting classes and working in quilting stores she made several very close friends. I was always amazed at how quick she could make friends. Other examples of friendships formed at different places Brenda went to was church and aqua fit classes, hear she also made some very close friends.
